Jen is a thirty-something sewer, quilter and photographer, who recently relocated from Madison, the capitol of Wisconsin, to Plymouth, Wisconsin, a small town near Lake Michigan.
By trade, she was first a journalist, and worked in the newspaper industry for nearly 10 years before a week-long lone camping trip in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Upper Michigan nearly five years ago prompted her to rethink her professional life. She returned home, gave her notice, left her career and enrolled in nursing school. Though the road was long and rough, with the support of her friends and family, she graduated in December 2011. She is currently a RN, working casual at a local rehabilitation and long-term care facility. She is looking forward to transitioning into medical/surgical nursing this summer.
Jen is a proud mama to two beautiful children: Her son Isaac is almost 10 years old and her daughter Hannah is four. They are the light of her life and have inspired her to provide them with a creative and exploratory childhood similar to her own.
She is currently the creative mind behind the Etsy shop Jennadesigns, which is scheduled to re-open this month.
